Arregló por 2 años y medio en Central. El tan deseado Luciano Figueroa vuelve a su casa. Después de una larga novela de pretemporada, se confirmó la vuelta del goleador, y entre el lunes y el martes lo esperan para que se sume al plantel. Luciano Figueroa Debutó de pibe en Central y luego pasó al Birmingham City de Inglaterra. Sin continuidad y con problemas internos, pasó al Cruz Azul donde la rompió y se metió en el corazón del hincha. En el 2005, pasa al Villareal de España y tras algunos inconvenientes con Pellegrini (DT del Submarino amarillo), volvió a Argentina, a River, jugó solo 7 partidos, metió 3 goles, y en una jugada desafortunada sufre la rotura de ligamentos cruzados. Tras su recuperación, ya en el Genoa español, es cedido a préstamo a Boca y vuelve nuevamente al equipo Genovés. Hoy, esperando el torneo Clausura 2010 pega la vuelta al club de sus amores, tras su operación de los menizcos de su rodilla derecha; Lucho llega a reforzar el equipo de Cuffaro e intentar repetir lo hecho en Central. El goleador se volverá a poner la casaca Canalla, luego de acordar su pase a Central tras largas conversaciones e idas y vueltas con el Genoa de Italia. a gente se entusiasma con su vuelta a pesar de la lesión en la rodilla -fue operado de los meniscos- que le demandará las primeras fechas del certamen. ¡Bienvenido Lucho!
